La Fondazione SoutHeritage per l’arte contemporanea è tra i soggetti curatori del programma internazionale di residenze artistiche promosso nell’ambito di “Terre Immerse”, il palinsesto culturale di “Matera Capitale Mediterranea della Cultura e del Dialogo 2026”, attraverso la realizzazione della residenza “Unfolding Pathways: Fluid Forms and Hybrid Interpretations of Paper Craft Design”, dedicata alla reinterpretazione contemporanea della tradizione della cartapesta. La residenza rientra nell’OPEN CALL – INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAMME, promosso dalla Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 insieme al Comune di Matera, con il sostegno della Regione Basilicata e del Ministero del Turismo, configurandosi come una piattaforma internazionale di ricerca e produzione artistica orientata al dialogo tra patrimonio culturale, pratiche artistiche contemporanee e comunità.
La call è rivolta ad artisti professionisti, senior e junior, provenienti dall’area euro-mediterranea e interessati a sviluppare progetti che esplorino le relazioni tra carta, cartapesta, arte contemporanea, artigianato, design e arti applicate. Le candidature dovranno essere presentate entro il 01 agosto 2026 secondo le modalità indicate nel bando disponibile sui siti della Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 a questi link:

Fondazione SoutHeritage for Contemporary Art is among the curatorial partners of the international artist residency programme promoted within “Terre Immerse”, the cultural programme of “Matera Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026”, through the development of the residency “Unfolding Pathways: Fluid Forms and Hybrid Interpretations of Paper Craft Design”, dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation of the tradition of papier-mâché.
The residency is part of the OPEN CALL – INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAMME, promoted by Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 in collaboration with the Municipality of Matera, with the support of the Basilicata Region and the Italian Ministry of Tourism. The programme is conceived as an international platform for artistic research and production, fostering dialogue between cultural heritage, contemporary artistic practices, and local communities.
The open call is addressed to professional artists—both emerging and established—from the Euro-Mediterranean region who are interested in developing projects exploring the relationships between paper, papier-mâché, contemporary art, craftsmanship, design, and applied arts.
